Tehachapi Community Theatre is delighted to confirm that we will soon be producing live theatre in our new permanent home in the historic BeeKay Theatre. We invite you to become a part of our partnership with the City of Tehachapi by sponsoring a portion of the new theatre. Your sponsorship will be permanently and prominently recorded in brass, either on the item sponsored, or on one of our recognition walls. A new theatre is good business for all of us. It means drawing folks to downtown where they’ll shop, dine, linger over dessert or stroll the neighborhood. Enhancing Tehachapi’s reputation as a City of the Arts to attract prospective residents and investors. There will be a new inexpensive venue where TCT will provide a wide variety of live theatre experiences and a space for special events, speakers, musicians and entertainers who have not before had a venue to entertain and enlighten you. How inexpensive? The City has gathered enough outside grant money to rebuild the BeeKay Theatre. Bidding is now underway and construction will begin with the New Year. TCT has committed to completing the interior and equipping the new theatre, at an estimated cost of $60,000, the ONLY local money required for the project. That’s a lot of impact for a very small investment. You will agree that $60,000 is a very small price for a new performance space that will feature a riser system providing comfortable seating, each with a clear view of the stage, a beautiful jewel-box décor, new lighting and sound equipment for a brilliant live theatrical experience.
